Kansas Wildlife Federation (KWF)
T. J. Hittle received the Kansas Conservationist of the Year Award for 2006 at the Kansas Wildlife Federation's annual banquet on Saturday February 10. T. J. is well known in the paddling world and has logged over 7,000 river miles in all parts of the United States and Central and South America. But T. J. received this award for his years of work in educating people and legislators about the miserable state of river access in Kansas as well as his efforts in preserving Kansas' natural habitats for future generations.
