National Organizations
American Canoe Association (ACA). The ACA makes it possible for clubs to train instructors and provide insurance for events. The KCWC is an ACA Paddle America Club which provides for membership in the ACA at a discounted price.
American Whitewater (AW). This is a great organization for ensuring our legal access to rivers and streams across the U.S. The KCWC is affiliated with the AW which provides membership in this national organization at a greatly reduced price. U. S. National Whitewater Center
The U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) is the world's premier outdoor recreation and environmental learning center. Alongside mountain-biking trails, a climbing center, running trails and camping areas, the park's unique feature will be a multiple-channel, customized whitewater river for rafting and canoe/kayak enthusiasts of all abilities. The USNWC is only 10 minutes from downtown Charlotte, North Carolina and provides over 300 acres of woodlands along the scenic Catawba River. The whitewater center is now open, August 2006.
